The Place Where I Live

Godoy Cruz is a department of the city of Mendoza. There are a large number of places worth visiting. It also has several beautiful green spaces where you can spend the day or play sports for those who like it. In this department we find the departmental square with the same name where the Monument to Don Tomás Godoy Cruz is located. Around this we find many important buildings such as the Municipality, the Post Office, some Banks, the Police and the Civil Registry, the San Vicente Ferrer Church, the Plaza Cinema, several traditional pharmacies and a great number of shops.

And we can walk or ride a bike in the Benegas bike lane of 4.5 km that connects the department from North to South, from Benegas Park, to Dr. Raúl Alfonsín Park, in the Bancario neighborhood. Here is  San Francisco de Asís bridge where lots of people make aerial fabric acrobatics.

In this beautiful department there is also San Martin Sur avenue where there are a few bars and discos to spend a beautiful night with friends. And the Palmares Open Mall is located in this long avenue. This shopping center people can go to the cinema, eat in some of the various restaurants or just shop.

Calvario de la Carrodilla is one of the places most chosen by the faithful during Holy Week. Here the traditional blessing of the olive branches is carried out and people walk the Via Crucis.

Other places that one should know are the “Luis Menotti Pescarmona” Amphitheater, a place of relaxation, meeting and celebration of different important events, such as the “Vendimia festival of the Godoy Cruz department”. Another places are the Mendoza Casino and Municipal Public Library, Escorihuela winery.

As you can see, Godoy Cruz has plenty of activities and beautiful places. It has a lot of Identity and whoever knows it falls in love.
